Posthumous Institutional Portrait Art

This expanded head and shoulder length portrait of Ms. Shelly Kaye was commissioned to hang in the lobby – dedicated in her memory – at the Jewish Social Service Agency's Ina Kaye Building – which was named after her late mother.

It's very rare, when painting a posthumous portrait, to find one particular photo that has all the information necessary to create a compelling visage. In this instance, Marvin was able to combine several photos (taken on the day of her wedding) in order to create a convincing and moving portrait that truly brought her to life and emphasized her gentle spirit.
